ONE-HOUR DEMO

Ciudad Chef

One hour, one chef we'd never met, no script and no ask. Just questions, while he worked. Three conversations came out of it, and together they reached roughly 100,000 people.

THE DEMO

This wasn't a shoot Ciudad booked or planned for. It was a demo, the same one-hour session we offer anyone deciding whether this approach is worth building on. We walked into the kitchen, met head chef Taylor for the first time, and asked him questions as he worked.

Nobody told him what to say. Nobody handed him a topic. We just followed what he actually cared about, and let the conversation land wherever it landed.

WHAT CAME OUT OF IT

63K

Treacle, made from scraps

Taylor talked about how Ciudad's kitchen runs on zero food waste, down to turning vegetable rinds and shells into treacle. He walked through how he actually makes it.

36K

Nose-to-tail, but vegetables

He talked about what people usually mean by nose-to-tail butchery, and how he learned to apply that same philosophy to vegetables instead of meat. Shared 232 times.

4K

Breaking bread, every day

A small ritual: the kitchen breaks bread together every day before service. It reached far fewer people than the other two, and it's still one of the truest moments on the page.

None of these were the plan going in, because there wasn't one. That's the point of the demo: an hour is enough time to find out what someone actually cares about, and what someone actually cares about is usually more interesting than anything you could have scripted for them.

This is what one hour, with no brief and no agenda, can turn into. See what it could look like for you.
